1. Who we are

In these terms “we” and “us” mean Tinge World Publishing, and “you” means the person using this site or placing an order.

2. Three ways to buy, three different sellers

• The plain copy, at the Lulu Bookstore. When you buy there, your contract is with Lulu Press, Inc. Lulu takes your payment, prints and ships the book, and its own terms, shipping costs and returns policy apply. We do not see your payment or address.
• The Mermaid Friend edition, from us. Your contract is with Tinge World Publishing. These terms apply together with our Custom order policy. If the two ever differ, the Custom order policy decides.
• Shop and pod accounts. Wholesale is business-to-business. It runs on a separate trade agreement that you receive when your account opens, and the consumer rules described on this site do not apply to it.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are in euros. The price shown on this site for the plain copy is our suggested retail price; the Lulu Bookstore and independent shops set their own.

The price shown on this site for a Mermaid Friend edition is the price before VAT. VAT is added on your invoice, together with the cost of shipping to your country. We send you the invoice and a pay link by email. They show the VAT, the shipping and the full total before you pay. The payment page names the provider handling the payment. We never see or keep your card number.

Sending the order form does not commit you to anything. The contract between us begins when your payment arrives, and we confirm it by email.

4. Delivery

Books are printed to order by our print partner and shipped to the address you give. Delivery times and what happens if a parcel is late, lost or damaged are set out in the Custom order policy. The book is yours, and the risk passes to you, when it is delivered to you or to someone you have named to receive it.

If you order from outside the European Union, your country may charge import duty or tax when the parcel arrives. Those charges are yours to pay.

5. Changing your mind

A Mermaid Friend edition is made to your order with your own photo and name, so the 14-day right of withdrawal that normally applies to online purchases does not apply to it. You can cancel for a full refund until you approve your cover proof. Once you have approved the proof, the order cannot be cancelled. The details are in the Custom order policy.

6. If something is wrong with your book

You are entitled to a book that matches what was agreed and is free of faults. If yours is damaged, misprinted, or does not arrive, tell us and we will put it right with a reprint or a refund. This is your legal guarantee and nothing in these terms reduces it.

7. Who can order

You must be 18 or older to order from us. A photo of a person under 18 can be used only when that person’s parent or legal guardian places the order.

8. Copyright

The text of Weight of Salt, its cover, the images on this site and the words on these pages belong to Tinge World Publishing and Stephannie Kaye Jones unless stated otherwise. You may not reproduce, distribute or republish them without written permission. Short quotations for review or discussion are welcome.

Buying a Mermaid Friend edition makes the printed copy yours. You keep every right in your original photo. We own the cover design. We will not use your photo or your mermaid image for anything other than making your copy unless you give us separate written permission.

9. This website

We keep this site accurate and up to date as best we can, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. If a price or description here is plainly wrong, we will tell you before taking payment and you can decide whether to go ahead.

This site links to services run by others, including the Lulu Bookstore, our order and shop forms hosted by Wix, and the Mermaid Universe directory. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies.

10. Our responsibility to you

If we fail to keep to these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss that could not have been foreseen, or for business losses. Weight of Salt is a work of fiction. It is not medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, and what a reader takes from it is their own.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited.

11. Complaints and disputes

If you are unhappy with an order, write to Editor@TingeWorld.com. A person reads every email and we will answer within 14 days.

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version on this page on the day you pay is the one that applies to your order.
